چکیده
Block based linear equalizers are used in communication systems for removing the effects of the channel degradation. Researchers have developed linear equalizers using different modulations techniques. This paper evaluates the BER performance of communication system for different over sampling factor of pulse shaping filters. The effect of the different number of transmitting blocks is also evaluated with different M-PSK modulations for the LMS linear equalizers over the frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel. The Rayleigh channel is modeled with multipath channels and normalized channel impulse response. For evaluating the performance of the linear equalizers M-PSK sizes are varied and BER is calculated. It is found that linear equalizers with normalized channel impulse response have better BER performance. It is observed that the BER probability is reduced with increasing the number of blocks. Performance is also compared for the different equalizer weights and block sizes.

Linear Block Equalizers in Rayleigh Fading Channel with Normalized Channel Impulse Response
Linear adaptive equalizers are widely used in wireless communication systems in order to reduce the effects of the channel distortion. Various researchers have used linear block equalizers for different modulations techniques. In this paper the BER performance of different M-PSK and M-QAM modulations with the block based LMS and RLS linear equalizers are compared over the flat and frequency sel...
متن کاملComparing RLS and LMS adaptive equalizers for nonstationary wireless channels in mobile ad hoc networks
This paper compares performance of finite impulse response (FIR) adaptive linear equalizers based on the recursive least-squares (RLS) and least mean square (LMS) algorithms in nonstationary uncorrelated scattering wireless channels. Simulation results, in terms of steady-state mean-square estimation error (MSE) and average bit-error rate (BER) metrics, are found for the frequency-selective Ray...
متن کاملTracking performance of incremental LMS algorithm over adaptive distributed sensor networks
in this paper we focus on the tracking performance of incremental adaptive LMS algorithm in an adaptive network. For this reason we consider the unknown weight vector to be a time varying sequence. First we analyze the performance of network in tracking a time varying weight vector and then we explain the estimation of Rayleigh fading channel through a random walk model. Closed form relations a...

This paper presents a systematic synthesis procedure for H,-optimal adaptive FIR equalizers over a timevarying wireless channel. The channel is assumed to be frequency selective with Rayleigh fading. The proposed equalizer structure consists of the series connection of an adaptive FIR filter and a fixed equalizer (designed for the nominal channel). Adaptation of the weight vector of the adaptiv...
متن کاملEfficient Decision Feedback Equalizers for Wireless Communication Using Optimum Filter Weights Selection and Normalized Channel Model
Decision feedback equalizers are widely used non-linear equalizers which are used to reduce the inter symbol interference in the communication systems. Selection of proper weights for forward and feedback filters is very important for the designing of efficient decision feedback equalizers. Performance of the most of existing wireless communication systems degrades under higher PSK (Phase Shift...
